Plant maintenance and unavailability

Plant unavailability,managed in real time

MAIA brings planned and unplanned unavailability together in a single web application: faults arrive automatically from SCADA systems, communications with Terna go through AGILE and the generation plan updates itself.

  • Control room
  • Energy manager

Features

Inside MAIA

From the fault to the right information, straight away. An unavailability involves maintenance, production, communications to Terna and economic impacts. When reports travel by email and phone calls, schedules fall behind. With MAIA every event lives in a single environment, shared by field staff, control room and energy management.

How it works, step by step

From the plant outage to the updated production plan.

01 · Event

The fault comes in from SCADA or the maintenance is planned.

02 · Management

MAIA assigns the task and tracks the status of the unavailability.

03 · Terna

The notification goes to Terna via AGILE.

04 · Plan

The IDRO production plan updates automatically.

05 · KPI

Lost energy and availability feed KPIs and budget.

Why choose MAIA

TimelinessFewer manual handovers between field, control room and energy management.
A single environmentPlanned and unplanned unavailability in the same view.
Aligned with TernaCommunications and resolutions handled directly from AGILE.
Connected to productionThe IDRO plan always starts from the actual state of the plants.

01What is MAIA?

MAIA is the IDRO Suite module for unavailability and maintenance: it manages planned and unplanned plant unavailability in real time and reports it to Terna via AGILE.

02What types of unavailability does it manage?

Planned and unplanned unavailability of generating units, with faults acquired from SCADA systems, and of hydraulic components and network elements, for internal and external causes.

03How does the spillage module work?

It lets you set the water diverted following an unavailability in m³/s or directly in MW, and record the energy lost for calculating management KPIs.

04Can budget simulations be run?

Yes, including starting from already planned unavailability.

The products of IDRO Suite

Each module works on its own or with the others and shares the same data. Discover IDRO Suite

  • Optimisation of plants and reservoirs

Manages hydraulic systems as a whole and supports planning and bidding strategy with optimisation algorithms and machine learning.

    Maintenance and unavailability

Manages planned and unplanned unavailability in real time and reports it to Terna.

  • Third-party producer portal

Digitalises the relationship between trading companies and third-party producers in a single shared web platform, up to the invoicing request.

    Discover
  • Production data and forecasting

Forecasts the production of every unit, own or third-party, with native algorithms or external providers.
